Discovery Bible Study

A Simple Tool to Help Groups Study the Bible Together.

Discovery Bible Study

The Discover Bible Study tool is a simple, effective, and easily reproduced method for groups to study a passage of Scripture together. We encourage our groups to use this tool as part of their Bible study practice. For tips on using this tool visit How to Lead a Discovery Bible Study at discipleship.org.

First, have two or three people read the selected passage out loud. ("Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word.." Romans 10:17)

Then, use these six questions as a guide for your discussion.

  1. Can you summarize this passage in your own words?
  2. What did you discover or learn about God from this passage?
  3. What have you learned or discovered about people from this passage?
  4. How are you going to obey this passage? (What is your "I will" statement?)
  5. With whom are you going to share what you have learned?
  6. Based on this passage, what can we pray about?
